Summary of joint seat allocation 2015, for Round 3 is as follows:
- In all, 33,916 candidates were allotted seats in Round 2 of Joint Seat Allocation 2015 for 87 institutes comprising of 18 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 18 IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and 18 Other-GFTIs. Out of these, 30,181 candidates have accepted the seat (inclusive of 26,957 candidates who accepted seat in Round 1). This resulted in overall vacancy of 3,893 seats at the end of Round 2 of JoSAA 2015. These vacant seats were allocated in this Round 3 by using the NIC and IIT Kanpur implementations of the DA algorithm based on the filled-in choices by the candidates prior to Round 1 [and prior to Round 2 allotment by those whose ranks were released by CBSE at the end of Round 1seat acceptance], and their category-wise all India ranks in JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-1, JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-2 and JEE (Advanced) 2015.
- Round 3 allotment output from the NIC and IIT Kanpur implementations matched with each other. In addition, these allocations were validated for compliance of all the business rules by the testing + validation teams from IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati. It was found that the allocations comply with all the business rules.
- In view of the above, NIC is allowed to publish the joint seat allocations 2015 for Round 3 on JoSAA portal on 18th July, 2015 as per schedule.
